Point by point. Mičánek Motorsport heads to Valencia to defend their lead in the GT2 European Series

Not to make mistakes, to finish both races, to focus on the championship. These are the three goals ahead of the fifth
round of the GT2 European Series for the Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra team. At the circuit
At Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, Bronislav Formánek and Štefan Rosina will be defending their lead in the championship.

“We know it won’t be an easy weekend. At this stage of the season, leading the championship means it’s all about staying consistent and steadily collecting points against our rivals. That’s our main objective. We’re aware that, in the title fight, only one Maserati crew can realistically challenge us. Our goal is to extend the gap over them as much as possible,” explained Jiří Mičánek jr., team manager of Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra.

The unique Valencia circuit stretches just four kilometres, packing twelve corners into a relatively compact layout. The Lamborghini Huracán fielded by Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra generally performs better on faster tracks, which adds an extra layer of challenge here. To make matters tougher, the pairing of Formánek and Rosina will be dealing with their least favourable Balance of Performance (BoP) settings of the season. Following Lamborghini’s dominance in the fourth round at Misano, championship officials have added an extra ten kilograms of ballast to the marque’s cars.

“We’re approaching the weekend, as Štefan says, with humility. Our aim is to get the most out of what’s possible, stay consistent, finish both races, and bring home as many points as we can,” explained Bronislav Formánek.
Štefan Rosina shares a similar mindset with just two rounds remaining in the season. “Our focus is fully on the championship — our goal is to maintain our position and fight for the title. It would be fantastic if, after last year’s victory in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, we could win another European series.”

Alongside the on-track action, the team also faces a busy off-track schedule. “Valencia is, in a way, our second home race — our engineer, Borja Alonso Suarez, comes from here, so we’re expecting plenty of his friends and fans to stop by and support us. The whole city always has a fantastic atmosphere, and we’re really looking forward to that,” said Jiří Mičánek.
