Wild Card in Super Trofeo: Mičánek Motorsport Adds Spice to the Season with Return to Lamborghini Elite

Back in the paddock that cheered them to their European title just ten months ago, Bronislav Formánek and Štefan Rosina, the reigning Pro-Am champions of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe series, will return with Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra to join the exclusive ranks of the world’s fastest one-make series at the Nürburgring.

“We’re entering as a wild card, up against extreme competition, on the new-spec Hankook tyres, which are completely unfamiliar to us. It’s a huge challenge, but we have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I have to say, I’m really looking forward to this weekend — and that’s not just a cliché,” said Jiří Mičánek Jr., team manager of Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra, ahead of the race weekend at the Nürburgring.

The legendary German circuit wasn’t chosen at random by Bronislav Formánek and Štefan Rosina. The track suits both drivers perfectly: in recent years, Formánek has posted his best results here in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, while Rosina celebrated a victory at the Nürburgring in 2012 in the FIA GT1 — then the world’s most prestigious GT series. “The date also fit perfectly into our calendar, so it helps us shorten the break between GT2 European Series races,” added Mičánek.

Last year, the Formánek–Rosina duo finished first and second in the Pro-Am class at the Nürburgring, competing against more than 40 cars. They secured their best result of the season and took the crucial step towards claiming the European title right here.

“On one hand, the Nürburgring is our favourite track — it has a fantastic rhythm, beautiful sections, and we know how to drive it in both dry and wet conditions. On the other hand, we’re facing a very tough challenge. The grid will be highly competitive and well-stocked, which we haven’t experienced in a while. The key difference will be the tyres, which are completely new to us in this specification. That will be a handicap,” Bronislav Formánek outlined the pros and cons ahead of the race weekend.

“I’m glad we’re going back, even though it’s going to be tough. We’ll need a different setup, and the tyres are completely different. Even without any testing on them, we want to measure ourselves against this year’s Super Trofeo competition,” said Štefan Rosina, who currently leads the GT2 European Series standings alongside Formánek.
