GT Cup Series in Most: Mičánek Motorsport to Race Huracán in Sprint for the First Time at “Home”

To reaffirm their position as leaders in the fight for the Czech endurance title while also dominating the sprint races these are the two goals Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra has set for the first home round of the GT Cup Series, kicking off at the Most Autodrom. Josef Záruba will be the key driver. Competing in the GTC class alongside Jakub Knoll in endurance, he will also take part in the sprints under the guidance of Jiří Mičánek Jr.

„This is the first home race of the season, and we face stronger competition as well as a home crowd. It’s a huge motivation for us to show our best. We’re really looking forward to it,” said team manager Jiří Mičánek Jr. ahead of the race weekend.

In the endurance races, reigning Czech champions Jakub Knoll and Josef Záruba face another step toward defending their title. Their otherwise straightforward drive in Most could be made more challenging by the significantly stronger competition in the GTC class, running alongside GTC1. “It’s nothing to be afraid of — quite the opposite. I’m glad that we’ll be competing alongside the cup Porsches in the same classification,” said Mičánek.

The same applies to the sprint races, where Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra will make its debut this year. Just like last year, Josef Záruba will take the wheel. He last competed in the sprints in Brno in 2024. “I’ll need to switch to a more aggressive style, which is required for the shorter races, but I’m looking forward to it. It rained here last year, and I wouldn’t mind if it’s wet again. The Huracán and I handle these conditions well,” said Josef Záruba, who dominated both GTC class races in Most last year, finishing second overall in the second race.

Jakub Knoll expressed a similar sentiment. “It’s a home track that I enjoy and know well. There might be some showers, and I’m curious to see how that could affect the weekend. I’m really looking forward to it,” said Knoll. Besides aiming for the class result, where he and Záruba could theoretically already secure the title, he’ll also be keeping an eye on the overall standings across all categories, which are expected to feature 23 cars according to the provisional entry list.
