The European elite of GT racing has its crowned winners. The promoter organization SRO presented the titles to the top GT teams and drivers in Venice. Among the global elite stands the Mičánek Motorsport team.
Bronislav Formánek and Štefan Rosina took home the trophies for the best drivers, while Jiří Mičánek jr. received the award for best team. Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra dominated this season with five victories and nine podium finishes, securing the title early in Valencia. One round before the end of the championship, the team achieved the narrowest possible lead that guaranteed them the crown in the prestigious series.
Thanks to this, Jiří Mičánek’s team became the first in Czech history to bring home an overall title from a European circuit-racing series. “This trophy belongs to the drivers and the entire crew. The fact that we finished every race of the season and scored points consistently played a crucial part in securing the GT2 European Series title so convincingly. We were the only team at the top of the championship that managed to avoid mistakes, stay out of collisions and always have a perfectly prepared car. That proved to be the decisive factor, just as it was in 2024 when we dominated Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe.”
The Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra team returned to the fastest one-make championship midway through the season. What was meant to be a single guest start turned into the team competing in the entire second half of the season.
“The GT2 European Series title is another mission accomplished for us, and now it’s important to find the motivation to keep moving forward. Our goal is to remain part of one of Europe’s prestigious racing series,” outlined Jiří Mičánek.
