Prague rally debut crowned with a podium: Stříteský and Šlégl take third in Mičánek Motorsport colours

Their first rally, their first podium. Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra marked its debut in the discipline with a strong third place at the Prague Rallysprint. Dominik Stříteský, guided by co-driver Jiří Šlégl, won two of the five stages and came within reach of the outright win.

“Taking a podium from our very first rally was exactly what we set out to do, so I’m delighted we achieved it. I want to thank Dominik, Jirka and the entire Jaroslav Orsák team for their excellent cooperation and complete professionalism,” said team manager Jiří Mičánek jr. as he reflected on their rally debut.

The partnership between Orsák Rally Sport and Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra proved to be a combination that captured the attention of rally fans, not just through its results. “Working with Jiří Mičánek has been excellent and I’m pleased we were able to top it off with a podium. And we were very close to winning. Dominik showed his class, and I think taking two stage victories out of five is well worth highlighting,” said Jaroslav Orsák, owner of Orsák Rally Sport.

Dominik Stříteský relied on the notes of CNN Prima News presenter Jiří Šlégl across all five stages. Together they formed a very strong pairing, and it was clear that the Prague Rallysprint wasn’t Šlégl’s first time in the co-driver’s seat. “The stage around the cement works was really tough and slippery, with a lot of mud and dirt dragged onto the road. The Strahov stage was more like a circuit, but squeezed between the kerbs. Even there it was easy to make a mistake,” explained Dominik Stříteský, who also praised Jiří Šlégl’s approach.

Much the same applied to the off-stage activities that Jiří Mičánek brought over from the circuit racing world. “You can see Jirka has everything around the event perfectly under control. I really enjoyed it, including the guests and the celebrities,” said Dominik Stříteský, whose debut in the colours of Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra drew support from TV presenter Lucie Borhyová, a regular follower of Jiří Mičánek’s drivers on the circuits.

Jiří Šlégl also savoured an exceptional weekend in the co-driver’s seat. “First of all, I have to thank Jirka Mičánek, Dominik and the entire Orsák Rally Sport team. The result of this partnership is an absolutely fantastic level of support and service, which is something truly rare in the Czech rally scene,” said the well-known TV presenter. “I tried to be genuinely helpful to Dominik, and I’m delighted that we brought home a trophy for Jirka in his rally debut – or to be precise, a winner’s wreath.”

The Prague Rallysprint marked the first competitive rally outing for the Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra team. “We chose to work with Orsák Rally Sport because of the team’s professionalism. The event in Prague confirmed that choice, and I feel that Jarda Orsák and I share the same standards when it comes to quality. After this debut, I see rallying as one of the directions our team can take in the future,” concluded Jiří Mičánek.
