First race, first win: Formánek and new teammate Pretorius dominate Super Trofeo Europe

The opening round of this year’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe season saw the Czech national anthem ringing out from the podium. Bronislav Formánek and Anthony Pretorius, the latest addition to the Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra line-up, claimed victory in the Pro-Am class after a thrilling run to the flag. It was also a strong start to the campaign for the Jakub Knoll–Renaud Kuppens pairing, who secured second place points in their opening race.

“We couldn’t have wished for a better start to the season with the Formánek–Pretorius crew. It confirms the ambitions we’ve set ourselves for this year. Both drivers proved during their stints that they rank among the very best in their class,” said team manager Jiří Mičánek Jr. when reflecting on the opening race of the 2026 season.

That promise was evident from qualifying, where Anthony Pretorius topped the overall timesheets to secure pole position for Sunday’s race. All four drivers delivered impressive performances: Formánek placed fifth in Pro-Am, Renaud Kuppens dominated his AM class session, and Jakub Knoll finished second.

The team’s return to Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe was further underlined by a superb race performance. “Unlike most of the Pro-Am field, we reversed our driver order, so Broněk started against the professionals and did a fantastic job. He handed the car over in a very strong position to fight for the win, and Anthony then produced an outstanding drive, closing a gap of more than ten seconds to the front and moving into the lead with two laps remaining,” explained Jiří Mičánek. The Formánek–Pretorius duo ultimately finished sixth overall, marking one of the team’s strongest outright results to date.
