Three races and two Lamborghini Huracáns in each of them. Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra will contest every GT race at its home event in Brno – and with reshuffled driver pairings, the team is promising a great show for the fans.
For three consecutive years, Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra has celebrated a domestic title in Brno. That will not be the case this year – with two crews fighting for European glory in Lamborghini Super Trofeo, the team is only contesting selected races at home. But the Brno fans will not be missing out. Quite the opposite. “Because we’re not focused on the championship here, we can mix up the line-ups and give the fans some great battles across all the categories,” explains team manager Jiří Mičánek Jr.
Much of the fans’ attention will be on Bronislav Formánek and Josef Záruba. The inseparable pair have entertained the Brno crowd with their sprint-race battle for the past two years. Now they are ready for round three.
Josef Záruba will be looking to improve his record in their head-to-head battles. “I’ll be getting back behind the wheel after a year, so I don’t even know how I’m going to feel. Beating Broňa is a huge motivation for me,” laughs the thirty-year-old, who celebrated the endurance title in Brno with Jakub Knoll last year but lost the sprint battle to Formánek. It will not be an easy task. Formánek arrives in excellent form from Lamborghini Super Trofeo, where he and Anthony Pretorius lead the Pro-Am standings. And he is extremely motivated to see Záruba cross the finish line behind him once again. Ideally in both races. “For me, it’s like a championship battle,” says the thirty-nine-year-old Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra veteran, looking forward to the weekend.
While the two drivers will be rivals in the sprints, they will share a car in the endurance race. For the past two seasons, Záruba fought for the title alongside Jakub Knoll, but this time he will swap Knoll’s seat for Formánek. “We’ll bring back some memories of the days when we were taking on Europe’s circuits together,” says Formánek, referring to the 2022 and 2023 seasons, when the pair regularly finished on the podium in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe. “I’m glad we can offer the fans exactly this kind of contrast. The guys are looking forward to it and I believe they’ll put on some great racing and a real show on track. And not just for the regular spectators – more than three hundred of our guests will be joining us in Brno,” adds Jiří Mičánek.
The team will also enter a second car in Saturday evening’s endurance race, driven by Jakub Knoll and Filip Sládečka. The pair already had the chance to race together during the summer at Most. For Sládečka, who last competed in Brno with Jiří Mičánek’s team in 2024, it will be his first experience of the circuit’s new surface. “I’ve heard nothing but praise for it. I’m looking forward to finding out whether it really is that fast. And I’m also looking forward to seeing plenty of friends and enjoying the atmosphere that Mičánek Motorsport creates in Brno,” says the Slovak driver. Like Formánek, Jakub Knoll will use the Brno weekend to break up the gap between Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe rounds, where he is fighting for the AM title alongside Belgian driver Renaud Kuppens. “We were successful at Most, so we’ll want to build on that in Brno. Friday might be wet, but it should be dry over the weekend. Unlike last year, we’ll be using tyre warmers this time, so I’d also like to improve on my lap time from last year,” says Knoll, referring to 2025, when he set a new personal best in Brno and broke the magic two-minute barrier for the first time.
Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra will occupy garages 13 and 14 right in the heart of the Brno paddock, providing a base for more than three hundred team guests. “For all the other fans, we’ll of course have a photo wall ready outside the garages, and they’ll also be able to come and see us during the pit walk, which we’ll combine with an autograph session,” says the team boss.
