Back to the hills after a year. Jiří Mičánek returns to Zámecký vrch to fight for victory and entertain the fans

It’s been a year since Jiří Mičánek Jr. last competed “against the clock” in hill climb events. A busy schedule, capped by the European title in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, left no time for his favourite racing format. Now, last year’s second-fastest driver at Náměšť nad Oslavou is back – and he aims to be among the fastest once again.

„Hill climbs are both racing and fun. From the competitive side, I’m most curious to see how Martin Jerman performs, as he’ll be driving the new Huracán in EVO2 specification this year – the same as ours. Technically, that should make for a level playing field,” Jiří Mičánek said ahead of the race weekend at Náměšť nad Oslavou.

He will face a two-kilometre course with a 106-metre elevation gain, eight left-hand and six right-hand corners, plus two speed bumps. Two years ago, the Lamborghini Huracán ST EVO2 driven by Jiří Mičánek was one of the few closed, rear-wheel-drive cars to break the magical one-minute mark for a single run on this track.

„We’re starting the race with a standard circuit-spec Huracán, only fitted with specific tyres and with some suspension adjustments. Apart from that, the car remains unchanged it’s one of the four cars we otherwise use in circuit series,” Jiří Mičánek explained.

Fans will find him and his team’s paddock right by the start line. “The fans in Náměšť are fantastic, and we want to be as close to them as possible. Just like last year, we’ve secured a spot in a private area just a few metres from the start. We’ll be happy to sign autographs for anyone who stops by,” Jiří Mičánek said.

Fans will also be able to admire his new helmet design. This year, Jiří Mičánek will once again reveal several unique versions, created by top Czech airbrush artists. In this case, the design was crafted by Jakub Paleček and his studio EXD.

In addition to Náměšť nad Oslavou, Jiří Mičánek will compete once more in the Czech Hill Climb Championship – at the legendary Ústecké 21, held on the last weekend of May in Ústí nad Orlicí.
