Five years in racing mode: Jiří Mičánek targets a second decade of podiums at Zámecký vrch

30/04/2026

For a decade now, Lamborghini machinery from Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra has been a fixture in the paddock at the Zámecký vrch hillclimb in Náměšť nad Oslavou. For the past five years, the team has also been a regular presence on the starting list. This double anniversary is something Jiří Mičánek Jr. would like to celebrate in style this weekend, ideally with silverware – and a victory.

“We first came to Náměšť back in 2016 with the Gallardo for an exhibition run. Then in 2021, with the Huracán, I decided to commit to racing in the hillclimb championship. That’s ten events I’ve completed here, and not one has been the same. Náměšť can be unpredictable, with the weather often playing a decisive role. I’m curious to see what this year brings,” says Jiří Mičánek Jr. with a smile.

For him, Zámecký vrch marks a return to hillclimbing after nearly a year away from the discipline. In the latter half of last season, the team focused on campaigns in the GT2 European Series and Lamborghini Super Trofeo, leaving no room in the calendar for domestic hillclimb events. “Our last start was at Ústecká 21,” Mičánek recalls.

That only heightens his anticipation of the unique atmosphere created by fans lining the natural hillclimb courses. “For almost a year we’ve been racing exclusively on circuits, where the connection with spectators feels a bit more distant,” he admits.

Despite the year-long break, Mičánek is aiming to build on last season’s results in Náměšť, where he claimed a double victory in the top two-wheel-drive class for single-axle-driven race cars. “We’ll see what the weather does, but of course we’ll also have an eye on the one-minute mark. In ideal conditions, we’ve managed to dip below that barrier here,” outlines the Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra team principal. As is tradition for the opening domestic event of the season, fans can also look forward to the unveiling of a brand-new helmet design.

Spectators will be able to visit the team’s paddock area located right next to the start line. The first cars will head out onto the two-kilometre course, featuring an elevation gain of 106 metres, from 8:00 on Saturday morning. Competitive runs are scheduled to begin after lunch, with a further three heats planned for Sunday afternoon.
