A year and a half — that’s how long Brno had to wait for Jiří Mičánek’s return to the hill climb at the Masaryk Circuit. After a break caused by scheduling clashes with European championships — both of which the Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra team went on to win — the Brno-born driver and team principal is back. On Sunday, just as he did in the spring of 2024, he’ll be aiming for victory.
Jiří Mičánek will get back behind the wheel of the Lamborghini Huracán ST EVO2 for the first time since spring, when he dominated the legendary Ústecká 21. In Brno, he’ll face a familiar track — but this time in reverse. The race starts from the lowest point at Schwantz Curve, with drivers tackling nearly 2.5 kilometres against the usual clockwise direction and climbing 73 metres in elevation. “It will be a symbolic way for us to end the season at home, on the very track where we clinched titles for Kuba Knoll and Pepa Záruba,” says the team manager ahead of Sunday’s event. This season, Mičánek Motorsport not only claimed victory in the GT2 European Series but also marked a successful return to the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe.
In the two hill climb events Mičánek contested this year, he maintained a perfect record — leaving both Náměšť nad Oslavou and Ústí nad Orlicí as the winner of his category. The same was true of his last appearance in Brno in 2024. “Naturally, we’ll want to build on that result,” says Mičánek. “I’m also really looking forward to meeting our fans and partners at home again.”
