Team Mičánek: Two Years, Two Titles – that is the name of the new film unveiled to more than 170 invited guests at a private pre-premiere hosted by Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra. The evening culminated in the auction of Jiří Mičánek’s race suit, which raised CZK 2.5 million. The team will donate the entire sum to the children’s hospice Dům pro Julii.
“During the evening we introduced a new documentary charting our team’s journey through the 2025 season. Viewers won’t just see the successes; we’ve allowed them a much closer look behind the scenes – how the team operates and the relationships between the drivers. We’re not afraid to show the setbacks either, because they’re an integral part of motorsport,” explains Jiří Mičánek of the new film, the third the team has produced.
In 2025, the team made a bold move. After securing the title in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe cup, it stepped up to the GT2 European Series. Following a tense showdown in Valencia, the squad clinched the championship there as well, with Bronislav Formánek and Štefan Rosina crowned European champions for the second consecutive year. With this double triumph, Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra etched its name into Czech circuit racing history.
After a one-year break, the team followed up on its charitable helmet auction, which in 2024 raised CZK 2,615,000 for Klokánek in Brno, a facility caring for vulnerable children. This year, the team principal placed his own race suit under the hammer. The suit itself fetched half a million crowns, while a further two million were pledged beyond the auction by the team’s partners, including its leading driver pairing of Bronislav Formánek and Štefan Rosina.
“I’m immensely proud of the strong community of successful people that has grown around our team. It’s inspiring to see our partners supporting a good cause so selflessly,” says Jiří Mičánek. “Two years ago, when we held the auction for the first time, the amount raised felt like a small miracle. I didn’t believe we would ever be able to match it, let alone collect a similar sum again. Yet we’ve managed to do exactly that.”
Lucie Borhyová, who hosted the gala evening and guided guests through the auction, could hardly hide her surprise and emotion. “After 2024, expectations were high and I was worried we might not live up to them. As the total began to climb, I thought we might perhaps reach a million. But to go this high? I truly didn’t expect it,” she said moments after the hammer fell. In the spring, Borhyová will begin her fourth season as a proud supporter of Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra. “I think I bring them luck,” she laughed.
Dům pro Julii is the only children’s hospice in the Czech Republic. It helps families caring for children with incurable illnesses cope with their life situation and, uniquely in the country, provides residential services. One day of care for three children costs around CZK 25,000. “This incredibly generous gift therefore represents funding for one hundred days of care,” calculated Olga Kobzíková, Chair of the Board of Trustees at Dům pro Julii, as she accepted a symbolic cheque from Jiří Mičánek and auction winner Jan Polický. “I was hoping the auction might raise perhaps one hundred thousand crowns.”
The winning bidder for the race suit was Jan Polický, owner of the Brno-based construction company ESOX. He was also the successful bidder two years ago, when he purchased Jiří Mičánek’s helmet for CZK 750,000. “I hope that next year Jirka puts his boots up for auction,” he joked after securing the suit. He added that ESOX regularly supports charitable initiatives, typically in the fields of science and research. The framed race suit will now take pride of place at the company’s headquarters, alongside the helmet acquired two years earlier.
Following its ceremonial pre-premiere at the Jalta Palace in Brno’s Cabaret Des Péchés, TEAM Mičánek: Two Years, Two Titles is now set for two public cinema screenings – on 26 February in Brno and 4 March in Bratislava. After its theatrical run, the documentary will air on Nova Sport. Its television debut has been timed perfectly for Formula 1 fans: the film will be broadcast just ahead of the live coverage of the season-opening F1 race in Melbourne, serving as a high-octane prelude to the new Grand Prix campaign.
