The goal for the final weekend of the Central European Circuit Championship is clear. The duo of Jakub Knoll and Josef Záruba aim to bring their campaign for the GTC endurance title to a victorious conclusion. However, they will have to battle their teammates for the race win. All this will unfold in front of hundreds of partners and fans coming to support the Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra team.

„This is one of the most important weekends of the year for us and undoubtedly the home highlight of the season,” says Jiří Mičánek Jr., who is aiming to deliver another championship title for Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra. Just as Jáchym Galáš had to watch his back against teammate Matěj Pavlíček last year, the duo of Jakub Knoll and Josef Záruba will face a dangerous rival on track, driving a Huracán in the same colours. Brno is set for a heated battle.

For the second team car, Bronislav Formánek will take the wheel as part of training for the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe series, alongside experienced Slovak driver Filip Sládečka. Once again, another race of the national series will have a Czech-Slovak flavour for Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra. “Filip knows the Huracán well, so the pairing makes perfect sense. I believe they will be very fast and that we’ll see an exciting battle,” predicts Jiří Mičánek Jr.

Both crews – who are in fact good friends – are already trading barbs from a distance. “Broněk is looking forward to pulling a fast one on us; the lads are fired up and eager to beat us. Either way, we’ll be racing without emotion,” reveals Josef Záruba. Even if they ultimately have to yield to the Formánek–Sládečka pairing, it shouldn’t jeopardise their title hopes. “I’m looking forward to an interesting comparison; it will certainly add spice to the race,” says Jakub Knoll.

Bronislav Formánek has two good reasons to race in Brno. “We have a long break in Super Trofeo, so I’ll use this as a training opportunity. And I’m looking forward to racing against Pep again; it’s been a long time since that happened. We’ve been rivals for ten years, and even though he’s theoretically faster, anything can happen—I don’t like losing,” laughs the team stalwart. He will also face his coach and friend in a pair of sprint races.

Filip Sládečka is set for a return to the wheel of a racing Huracán after five years, having last competed in Super Trofeo Europe in 2019. “I’ve been coaching on the Huracán and staying in touch with it as an engineer, so I won’t need too much time to readjust, even though I haven’t raced it for a while. I’m glad Jirka and I came to an agreement—everyone in the team are friends—so I’m looking forward to the whole weekend and the friendly atmosphere,” says Sládečka.

The heated battle across three races will be watched by hundreds of Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra fans live at the circuit over the weekend. “We’re preparing excellent facilities and a full programme for them, just like our parent team, Buggyra, who are also coming to Brno,” says Jiří Mičánek.
