The goal is to stay flawless. Jiří Mičánek’s team aims to take another step towards the title in Most

Having remained unbeaten in endurance races across Central Europe three times already, Jakub Knoll and Josef Záruba, representing the Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra team, will be aiming to extend that streak this weekend. The fourth round of the Central European Circuit Championship gets underway in Most.

„In the endurance races, we’re continuing with our programme for this year – to secure the title with Jakub and Pepa. There will be a change in the sprint races, where Pepa Záruba will also be driving instead of Libor Dvořáček,” revealed team manager Jiří Mičánek Jr., outlining plans for the first of the two home rounds of the Central European Championship.

For Josef Záruba, it promises to be one of the most hectic race weekends he’s had in the past two years, not least because he’s set himself an ambitious personal goal for the two sprint races. “Besides aiming for victory in the GTC class, I’ll be looking to challenge the GT3 cars on the grid. It won’t be easy – Most is a technical circuit, and the GT3s have the advantage – but I’d love to take the overall win,” says the confident stalwart of the Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra team.

Similar ambitions will be shared with Jakub Knoll in the endurance race. “Most is like a home race for me; I know the circuit perfectly. We’ll see how strong the competition is, not just in the GTC class but overall. From the entry list, it looks like there will be a lot of fast cars, so it could be an interesting race,” says Jakub Knoll. So far this season, he and Záruba have been flawless in the GTC class, and they’ve already stood on the overall podium three times. “Jakub and I work in perfect symbiosis, and I’m confident we can extend our winning streak. Personally, it will be a bit more physically demanding, but I’m still training with my coach Karel Kaiser from Muay Thai at the level of a professional driver, so I should be able to handle it without any problems,” Záruba adds.

For the first time this season, Libor Dvořáček will miss a race, sitting out the round in Most due to chronic ligament issues in his shoulder. “It’s an injury that has affected me in previous seasons, and unfortunately I aggravated it during training. I’ll do my best to be fully fit for the upcoming race weekends,” explained the long-time Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra driver.
