A new circuit championship is unlikely to emerge from this, but it could become a fun tradition. Ahead of Christmas, the Lamborghini Huracán was decked out with 3,000 glowing lights and drove around the Masaryk Circuit in Brno. Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra marked the year in style, celebrating their championship-winning season in the prestigious Lamborghini Super Trofeo.

I’ve never driven around the circuit in complete darkness with so many Christmas lights. Drifting around the Christmas tree was especially fun. I really enjoyed it,” said Jiří Mičánek Jr., manager of the championship-winning team.

There’s no doubt about the fastest Christmas-decorated object in the Czech Republic. The Lamborghini Huracán ST EVO2, with 620 hp, reached over 200 km/h on the track while fully lit. “We created the fastest illuminated and Christmas-decorated object,” laughed Jiří Mičánek Jr. “It was something extraordinary, but also extremely challenging. Thanks to Automotodrom Brno for taking this on with us.”

Decorating the race car wasn’t done by a cozy fireplace with Christmas carols playing. In the garage, Christmas lights had to be patiently installed on the hood over two days. In total, 240 meters of lights and around 3,000 bulbs were used. The full effect came alive when driving on the track in complete darkness. “We’ll make this a tradition. If we win the title next year, we’ll definitely do something like this again. Once FIA sees it, they might even turn it into a special Christmas series,” Jiří Mičánek Jr. added with a smile.

Under his leadership, the Czechoslovak duo Bronislav Formánek and Štefan Rosina dominated the Pro-AM category in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo championship. This is the fastest cup series in the world, featuring around 50 similar cars competing.
