Lamborghini Huracán ST EVO2 and Ford Capri RS2600LV. This striking pair of cars from across automotive history is drawing visitors to Galerie Vaňkovka, teasing a unique race weekend at the Masaryk Circuit. 13. And on 14 July, the Brno Grand Prix Revival will take place there – races featuring prestigious international series of historic cars, including Formula 1.
„The pair of cars links the history of racing in Brno. “Last year at the Masaryk Circuit, we claimed both the championship and runner-up titles, while the Ford Capri in this exact specification dominated a race on the old track back in 1972,” recalls Jiří Mičánek Jr., team manager of Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra, highlighting the historical connection between the two cars. And they will be brought together once again during the race weekend itself.
Among the historic cars, which will be dominated by F1 racing machines from 1949 to 1985, modern cars from Jiří Mičánek will make their mark. “On Saturday, we’re planning an exhibition run during the midday break, but I’ll keep the details to myself for now – it’ll be a surprise,” Jiří Mičánek hinted.
Visitors to the race weekend will have the chance to see the Lamborghini Huracán ST EVO2 up close, as the team will display it within the autodrome complex. They’ll also be able to check out the “neighbouring” Ford Capri, which will be parked in the club zone alongside a hundred other historic cars and motorcycles owned by Czech enthusiasts. “Brno Grand Prix Revival is, without exaggeration, a miniature version of the most famous historic car festivals, like Goodwood Revival or Le Mans Classic. Through our club gathering, we want to bring these icons closer to fans,” explains Karel Kostroň, co-organiser of the club meet and owner of the unique Capri RS2600LV.
The blue-and-white Ford will also hit the track over the weekend, taking part in club runs each morning and evening. Visitors to Galerie Vaňkovka can view both cars until Monday, 8 July. The race weekend itself kicks off on Saturday, 13 July, at 8 a.m. with the first run. Across Saturday and Sunday, spectators can look forward to a total of twenty hours of exciting on-track action and events.
