Jiří Mičánek’s exhibition in Moravský Krumlov: a helmet as a tribute to the town and a surprise on the track

At the Supermoto races in Moravský Krumlov, driver Jiří Mičánek Jr. captivated fans with a brand-new helmet design dedicated to the historic town itself. And it wasn’t just the Lamborghini Huracán ST EVO2 making an appearance on track — Mičánek also took to the circuit in a rare Mercedes-AMG GT. For the Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra team, it marked the return of their traditional summer exhibition.

„Moravský Krumlov and Supermoto once again didn’t disappoint. A fantastic atmosphere, passionate fans, and thrilling races,” said Jiří Mičánek Jr., manager of the Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra team and a racer himself. As usual, he and his team brought a pair of fierce Lamborghini Huracán ST EVO2s to the city circuit – the same cars they race in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe series. However, Mičánek had two surprises in store for the fans. The first was an unplanned scrape of the Huracán’s rear wing against the barriers during the exhibition, and the second a switch of cars for Sunday’s run.

„On Sunday, we spontaneously decided that instead of the Lamborghini, I’d take out the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series from SAMOHÝL MB,” revealed the team boss, who was joined on track by driver Bronislav Formánek in the second Huracán. Formánek also has a personal connection to the event the Supermoto races were originally held in his hometown of Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou, and he continues to support the event to this day, both personally and materially.

However, for the local fans in Moravský Krumlov, the traditional Lamborghini Huracán exhibition was eclipsed by another highlight – Jiří Mičánek unveiled his third helmet of the season right at the event. This time, his inspiration came directly from Moravský Krumlov itself. “The design, created by Jakub Paleček of EXD Design, features predominantly blue and green – the colours of Moravský Krumlov. At the same time, it pays homage to the iconic 2007 Honda RA107 Formula 1 car, whose livery resembled planet Earth,” explained Jiří Mičánek, describing the inspiration behind his third helmet of the year.

The helmet’s dedication to Moravský Krumlov is made clear by the town’s logo featured on its crown. “I wanted to pay tribute to the organisers, who put on this fantastic event, as well as to the town itself, which welcomes it every year and provides the conditions needed to make it happen. There’s an incredible amount of work behind it, but the result is a race that recalls the days of motorsport when competitions took place on city streets,” Jiří Mičánek concluded.
